I started coming to Harrison’s my senior year at Ohio State. Very much in the same way the pilgrims fled their homelands because of religious persecution, I fled campus to escape corporate price inflation… yeah I just related those things, read on. Why I didn’t just stick around and go to “B-Dubs” for $0.45 wing night was because I heard of a mystical place. A place where a man could sip on a cold $2.00 Yuengling and enjoy a plate piled high with meat, slathered in buckets upon buckets of tasty sauces… this mystical place I was told of, that place is Harrison’s on Third.

Fast forward to a year and a half later and I’m still coming to Harrison’s on Monday nights for their amazing wing deal. The reason isn’t simply because of the price, although that has a lot to do with it. No, the reason is because the wings are actually really really good. The 5-6 sauce choices cover the essentials and the wings themselves are a good size. Couple that with the fact that Harrison’s has plenty of TV’s, TouchTunes, an assortment of bar games (pool, darts, pop-a-shot) and you have a great bar.

The servers are also really cool, for a while I was drawing on napkins and leaving them with the bill… one day I was informed that they’ve been keeping the dumb drawings and have a small gallery of them in the back (undoubtedly stained with sauce) but how cool is that. A place that actually cares. Cheers to you Harrison’s.

I’ve only been here for their happy hour wings deal on Monday but it’s worth it and it’s awesome. They have 25cent wings that you can order in multiples of five, with an upper limit of 25 wings per person max (but who needs to eat more than 25 wings at a time? so it’s not a problem) and you can’t bring leftovers home. The wings are big and meaty, and it looks like they’re fried before dredging in sauce and served. They have a variety of flavors and I’ve been here often enough to try them all at this point, but my favorites are the Asian zing and the spicy garlic. I don’t think the other flavors are as good — the peppercorn ranch especially looks a little gross, but at $1.25 for five, I think you can afford to give them all a try to see for yourself what you like best.

Also, their sides are great and also affordable! $2 for generous portions of sweet potato fries, tomato soup, among other options. And they also have great beer specials and the cocktail menu looks interesting. My friends come here on a regular basis, and I’d really like to give some of their other weekly deals a try (i.e. grilled cheese night) but at the same time it’s not healthy to dine here thaaat much.

Harrison’s on Third  has become my go-to pre-game (or during-game) bar for Ohio State Buckeyes football. It’s clean, big, and has great specials. It also is in a great location (located in Harrison West on Third, in case you could not decipher on your own) that makes for a great pitstop if you are walking from Victorian Village to campus.

There is a nice mix of people at Harrison’s on Third, not only on game days, but on any night of the week. It’s never overbearingly croweded and is (mostly) free of the typical obnoxiousness of Park Street or Campus bars. There are nice young professionals or grad students that frequent the bar.

There are great drink specials, and fantastic beers on tap (if you’ve never had the Chicago beer 312, Harrison’s is the place to get it and get it for cheap). They also have fantastic spinach artichoke dip (honestly some of the best I’ve had), salsa and chips, and quesadillas. I can’t speak for any of the entrees, as I have not had them, but their appetizers are certainly above par compared to most bar foods.

This used to be B. Hampton’s, which I never went to, but I heard has improved immensely. There are big screen TVs, two full bars, and a great mix of booths, bar seats, low tables and high tables. The only drawback to this place is that parking is sparce and it can get annoying trying to find a spot. Your best bet is trying to find a spot on 3rd or Neil.

Great happy hour and local bar.

Harrison’s is a regular spot for my weekly happy hour crew. They have a different food special every night of the week and there drink special is 50% off all drinks. That’s right, ALL DRINKS. It’s amazing.

The service is always good and the servers are very attentive. The bar has tons to tables, booths, bar room and I never feel crowded there.

Street parking in abundant  around the bar and it’s located right off of Neil in Victorian Village. The place can get packed when games are going on but the food and drink happy hour will keep me going back forever!

Harrison’s on Third is a perfect place for a group of friends to go have a great time together without being in a huge crowd. I have been to Harrison’s about a dozen times with co-workers, usually on Sunday nights, and we always have a blast! Prices are reasonable, there is a HUGE touchscreen jukebox that looks like something from the future, a cute patio, 2 pool tables, double sided bar and gorgeous, clean bathrooms. The Sunday night bartender, Olivia, is fantastic! Very attentive and never lets my glass go empty. The mangers are super fun and always make sure we have a great time if they are around!

Harrison’s is definitely a great bar to for happy hour or a chill night out with a few friends!
